-let me explain, there are so many free art programs online but it seems that not so many people are aware of them

especially these two programs: Art Rage and Pixia

Art Rage was mentioned in [Deviant Art's news before] but for those who don't know, I have written a little something below:

What does Art Rage do? -it emulates traditional media (especially oil paint) extremely well!
it is from ambientdesign.com and available for download here: [link]

[Pixia] is a program much like Open Canvas (OC), or Deleter CG Illustrator but it is freeware created by Isao Maruoka

go get the light version of Open Canvas [link] (it's version 1.1 and this is freeware)

you can change the language to English by selecting the last area in the upper toolbar (the one that has the (H) next to it) and choosing English

-there are quite a few good-looking programs for download as freeware with regards to 3d rendering, here are two nice-looking ones:

[Terragen]
this is a pretty well-known piece of rendering software- it is used for environments (and can make excellent realistic backgrounds )

this is the [article on the 3d art contest] that DA put out recently- you will find within the link to DAZ|Studio, which is freeware.

[GMAX] an excellent Discreet product (this is the company that created 3d Max, by the way)

I fixed up the entry a bit since I wanted things to be stated more clearly- I also added more links to DA news articles and to good programs as well (I'm considering just changing the article of this entry and the link to this to simply, "good freeware" or something like that).
